This head design is commonly used in the assembly of the teeth on bulldozer, backhoe and excavator buckets (bucket tooth bolt). Another popular application for this low profile head design is in the assembly of shear blades in metal shears and demolition shears (shear blade bolt). # 7 Head Bolts are made from Alloy Steel heat treated to a Grade 8 (150,000 psi min) strength level for excellent toughness and wear resistance. The ANSI standard for plow bolts (ASME B18.9) only dimensions # 7 head plow bolts to 3/4" diameter. A complete line up to 1 1/2" diameter utilizing the same proportionality as specified in B18.9 is available.
